What CalVCB is (quick summary)
The California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) reimburses crime-related expenses for victims of violent crime in California — medical and dental bills, mental health counseling, income loss, funeral and burial costs, relocation, home security, and crime scene cleanup. It is a payer of last resort, after insurance and other benefits.
