Free YNAB subscription through a nonprofit partner
You Need A Budget (YNAB) is a budgeting app that helps people break the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle, get out of debt, and save. A paid subscription normally costs around $109 per year. Through the YNAB for Good program, YNAB donates free subscriptions to 501(c)(3) nonprofits that teach financial literacy, so those nonprofits can hand the subscriptions to the people they serve at no cost.
This means you don't apply to YNAB directly — you get a free subscription by going through a partner nonprofit. If you're already working with a financial-literacy program, ask them whether they're a YNAB for Good partner.
What's included
- A free YNAB subscription (distributed by the partner nonprofit)
- Free live YNAB workshops, open to anyone
- Free educational articles, videos, and personalized support from YNAB
For nonprofits: how to become a partner
If your organization wants to give YNAB to the people you serve, you can apply to YNAB for Good. To qualify, your organization must:
- Run a program that teaches financial literacy to people in marginalized or underrepresented communities
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) in the US (or a registered charity in Canada) that's been operating for at least one year
- Provide a copy of your active non-discrimination policy with the application
- Understand that YNAB donates product access, not money
