This program changed names. "GoFundMe Charity" shut down in 2021. The replacement for nonprofits is now GoFundMe Pro (formerly Classy). Free Nonprofit Pages are also available on GoFundMe.com.

What this is

If your 501(c)(3) nonprofit wants to raise money online through GoFundMe, you now have two options:
  • Nonprofit Page on GoFundMe.com — free, simple donation page tied to the main GoFundMe site. Good for small nonprofits and casual fundraising.
  • GoFundMe Pro — full fundraising platform (events, peer-to-peer, recurring giving, custom branded pages, donor reports). This is the rebrand of Classy, which GoFundMe bought in 2022. Better fit for established nonprofits with active fundraising programs. [Source: pro.gofundme.com (accessed 2026-05-17)]

Who qualifies

Both options are for U.S.-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits. You'll need your EIN and proof of nonprofit status. [Source: pro.gofundme.com (accessed 2026-05-17)]

How much it costs

  • GoFundMe Pro: pricing not posted publicly. You request a demo and they quote you. Expect a platform fee plus payment processing. [Source: pro.gofundme.com (accessed 2026-05-17)]

How to sign up

  • Nonprofit Page — As of October 23, 2025, pages are opt-in only. Visit GoFundMe's verification portal, claim your nonprofit, and verify. Until you do, your nonprofit won't appear in search. [Source: gofundme.com/c/charity-fundraising (accessed 2026-05-17)]

Common pitfalls

  • Don't confuse a personal GoFundMe ("I'm raising money for X") with a Nonprofit Page. Personal campaigns can't issue tax-deductible receipts.
  • If you had a "GoFundMe Charity" account before 2021, it no longer exists. You'll need to start fresh on one of the two current options.
  • Verify your Nonprofit Page or it won't be searchable.
